Fort Myers Floral Designs wins top awards at 2010 Festival of Trees

Dec. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Fort Myers Floral Designs won the Mayor’s Choice, Most Creative and Best Overall Awards at the fourth annual Tux and Trees gala held December 4, 2010 at the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center to benefit Southwest Florida Goodwill Foundation. The tree was designed by Mary Devlin, Floral Director, and donated to this year’s Festival of Trees by owners Greg and Colleen DePasquale. The tree was auctioned off for a record breaking $4,000.00. The annual event and auction has raised well over $150,000 to support the work of Goodwill Industries.

Named “…And Make the World Taste Good,” the winning tree features a handmade gingerbread family that comes to life and gathers around a world of pure candy imagination—with a cupcake tree topper, marshmallow snowmen, peppermints, lollipops, candy sticks, gumdrops, and cookies all wrapped in fun candy garland. The tree included other “sweet” treats from supporting sponsors, such as dazzling jewelry, a 2-night hotel escape package, spa treatments, chocolate, soft drinks, music, and baseball tickets.
