NABVETS Women's Chapter for Women Veterans Installed with Congressman Bob Filner
Women Veterans are seldom recognized as important contributors to our country’s freedom. The NABVETS Women’s Chapter installation, San Diego, California, will be an honorable celebration of ALL Women Veterans regardless of race, creed or color!

Join California’s First Women’s Chapter of NABVETS for this historical event, as they become officially installed as the 71st Chapter and handed over by Congressman Bob Filner. It takes place Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Balboa Park Club, inside the Santa Fe Room. 2144 Pan American Rd W, San Diego, California 92101. The installation begins at 11 am. Refreshments will be served. The men’s 72nd Chapter is also being installed at this event.
NABVETS (National Association of Black Veterans) was started in 1969 by seven Vietnam veterans. Their mission was to address issues concerning Black and other minority veterans. Part of NABVETS’ purpose is to assist other veterans with employment and job training, accessing services, VA medical assistance, claims & benefits, homeless outreach, and more. About NABVETS: On an ongoing basis, the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. will provide strategic advocacy on behalf of its membership with Congress, the Federal Administration, State Administrations and other agencies and organizations. NABVETS will provide personal advocacy on behalf of veterans seeking claims against the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; advocacy for youth in all matters required for successful passage into adulthood; advocacy on behalf of families; with community involvement, provide advocacy in creating positive lifestyles for veterans; and to generate and preserve the historical record.
