NJ Day Spas Announce Gift Certificates With No Expiration Date

Dec. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- (Long Branch NJ) Aquamedica Day Spa and ABC Day Spa, two renowned day spas in NJ, are among the first of any spas to announce that they will not impose any expiration dates on their spa gift certificates.

Spa gift certificates are among the most popular holiday gifts, however, consumers have been disappointed in the past by expiration date limitations imposed on gift certificates from many types of businesses, not just spas.  Aquamedica Spa in Long Branch has always offered their dollar value gift cards with no expiration date.  Now that owner Valentina Chistova has opened her second NJ day spa, ABC Day Spa at CentraState in Freehold, the offer will be available in both places.  

The controversy over gift card expiration dates has grown in recent years since businesses have begun to impose very strict regulations on consumers.  In addition to expiration dates, some businesses have begun to add activation charges, monthly service fees, unreturned balances, and expiration dates that can render worthless.  According to Chistova, these businesses are giving the gift card business a bad name.  “We want consumers to use their gift card, whether it was purchased it 2 weeks ago or 2 years ago,” says Chistova, “They purchased the card, it is their right to use it without strict limitations or unreasonable fees.”
