Nov. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- “Now, more than ever, there is a collective shift to explore other energy options. We need to continue to make sure those options are the best options.”

This is what Mr. Williamson, CEO of New West Technologies, LLC (NWT) shared recently in a senior staff meeting on the issue of continued success and growth in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industry.

His technical consulting company provides research and testing for mostly the federal government and has experienced a 687% growth rate over the last three years and recently made the INC. magazine 500 list of America’s Fastest Growing Companies this year and two years previously.

New West Technologies, LLC started with an idea that if you need a service, you have to provide it yourself. Mr. Williamson, who is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa (Ojibwe) Tribe, formed the company in 1996 to help American Indian Tribes find solutions to their electrical grid challenges.

Since then, NWT has provided a comprehensive analysis of electric vehicle options (with NASA), and has been able to provide energy efficiency solutions for the trucking industry, and currently provides evaluation and environmental impact of wind, biomass, solar, and distributed generation technologies.

“One of the keys to success,” Mr. Williamson remarked, “is to understand the growing need to cater to energy issues.”

“Many companies focus on profit,” he advised, “and now they are failing. We recognized early that we needed to be a company that provided research, testing, and applications to renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. We understood that back when we started, and that is why our company is optimistic to another big year.”

In fact, NWT has recently received three new contracts; one for the Housing Authority of Baltimore City for energy analysis and assessments, one for the Maryland Port Administration that will provide environmental consulting services for the Port of Baltimore, and finally one that will provide energy saving technologies to Naval facilities. So what does the future look like for New West?  Currently, they are pursuing to be a contractor with the Department of Defense in 2011 that will develop and install new hardware for renewable energy.

While the company is an integral part of Mr. Williamson’s life, there is a direct correlation between his personal life and the success of the business. Outside of work, Mr. Williamson enjoys working on his side project.  Located in Ft. Peck, his project informally called the “Montana Wind House” is designed to showcase a home that is completely sustainable using only renewable energy technologies. The home, once completed, will be used for educational purposes.

“We want energy to work for us in a clean and responsible way, and we are excited to see what 2011 will bring,” said Mr. Williamson.
