Nov. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Dallas, Texas — PMForum, Inc announced today that Mr. Taopheek Babayeju has been named an International Correspondent for PMForum and PM World Today in Abuja, Nigeria.  PMForum’s global network of international correspondents delivers project management-related news and information from around the world and provides local representation.  PMForum operates www.pmforum.org, the world’s oldest website devoted to professional project management, and produces the popular monthly global project management e-Journal PM World Today.

According to PMForum Managing Editor David Pells, “I am very happy to have Taopheek Babayeju join our team of global correspondents.  I have been very impressed in the last two years with his organization and leadership of the annual project management conference ProMaCon in Abuja, and especially this year when so many top government officials participated.  It is clear to both Taopheek and me that project management must be a key competency for both the Nigerian economy and government to develop more quickly and successfully.”

Taopheek Babayeju is Lead Consultant at iCentra Consulting, with offices in Abuja and Lagos.  He is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in Telecoms, IT and Project Management. He graduated with a BSc in Physics (Electronics) from Lagos State University in 1999 and started his career as a Telecoms Engineer with TCC Nigeria Limited on Broad Street Lagos.   He later had a brief stint with MTEL before joining SonyEricsson Service Center as the Head of Technical Operations.

Mr. Babayeju attended the United Kingdom Telecoms Academy (UKTA) to train as a Network Engineer and upon his return to Nigeria joined MTEL again as a project Manager at the Project Implementation Unit where he attended several Project Management trainings and courses locally and internationally. At MTEL he was able to use Project Management methodologies extensively in the organisation's network roll-out and expansion programmes. He later resigned to pursue his personal ambition as an entrepreneur, hence the formation of Integrated Circuits Tech. Ltd (Now iCentra Nigeria Ltd.).  He also founded The Phone Clinic (a mobile device service center).

As a consultant he specialises in using Technology and Project Management to enhance an organisation's business models and processes for commercial advantage. His wealth of experience and knowledge at management level with strategic responsibilities added value to service delivery in organisations he worked with. He is currently the Lead Consultant at iCentra Consulting where he is responsible for designs, planning and strategic implementation of key projects and initiatives.

Taopheek initiated and directs the annual National Project Management Conference (ProMaCon), the now important annual conference aimed at promoting modern professional project management on national development programs and projects. He is an active member of the US-based Project Management Institute (PMI®) and the first recipient of the PMI Nigeria award for the "Most Outstanding Contribution to Project Management (Youth Category)”.  He is also an editorial board member of PM Foresight.
