The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Wins Another Award: “Urban Truck of the Year”

Nov. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Decisive Auto Magazine named the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee the “Urban Truck of the Year.” This honor is chosen by the editors of the magazine after driving several vehicles in the North American urban areas.

According to Chrysler and Decisive Auto Magazine “the decision was focused on several categories, including styling, practicality and attainability attributes of each vehicle.”

The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has won several awards this year and the “Urban Truck of the Year” is just the latest. The Grand Cherokee has also won awards for: Consumers Digest “Best Buy,” Popular Mechanics Automotive Excellence Award for Off-Road Ability, Texas Auto Writers Association “SUV of Texas,” Texas Auto Writers Association “Full-size SUV of Texas,” Ruedas ESPN “Best SUV,” and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick.

Lyndon Bell, the Editor-in-chief of Decisive Auto magazine said, “The Jeep’s over-the-road dynamics easily rivals that of its competitors’ less capable crossover vehicles. Meanwhile, the Jeep is also perfectly proficient at traversing any terrain.”

This award will be presented at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan on January 9, 2010.
