NDNA’s e-Quality Counts Programme Certified by CPD UK

NDNA today announced that its quality improvement scheme, e-Quality Counts, has been certified by CPD UK

Nov. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) today announced that its quality improvement scheme, e-Quality Counts, has been certified by CPD UK. CPD UK is an independent body which certifies that training and resources confirm to universally accepted continuous professional development (CPD) guidelines. This certification from CPD UK evidences how undertaking e-Quality Counts contributes to learning and development and now those undertaking the scheme will be able to reflect this learning in their training and development records and count this towards their continued professional development.

As an online innovative quality improvement tool, e-Quality Counts (http://www.ndna.org.uk/training) encourages nurseries to look at all aspects of provision and carry out a self evaluation of current practice and identify developmental needs in the nursery and across staff teams. The programme also supports nurseries to remain up-to-date in their knowledge of the latest business and childcare practice, and helps to highlight where development is required to help them continually develop practice against new and emerging initiatives. More widely, the online technology of the scheme helps to grow staff IT skills and the resources included provide further knowledge in key areas.

Stella Ziolkowksi, Director of Quality and Workforce Development at NDNA comments: “We are delighted that the learning and development of e-Quality Counts has been recognised with CPD UK certification. As this quality improvement programme encourages the involvement of the whole setting, e-Quality Counts supports the wider development of the staff team. High-quality staff skills are critical to being a sustainable nursery that can deliver the best possible services for children and families. Recently, Ofsted reflected in its Annual Report how being part of a quality improvement scheme has a direct correlation to inspection outcomes. Ongoing development of skills and practice is critical, and by undertaking e-Quality Counts, nurseries can identify practical ways to do this. NDNA is pleased that the value of the scheme to the professional development of the sector has been recognised, and that those undertaking the scheme can now evidence their journey in their learning and development.”
