Yappy Hour Supports North Central Region Canine Companions For Independence

Pete and Mac’s Pet Resort in the Northland, Kansas City, MO is holding a Yappy Hour to support  Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) on Wednesday, December 8th from 4 – 7pm. $5 donation at the door. Raffle supports CCI, tickets on sale now

Deb Locander, development associate for the North Central Region of Canine Companions for Independence reports, “Canine Companions for Independence is a national non-profit organization that provides highly trained dogs for people with disabilities other than blindness. Canine Companions is celebrating its 35th birthday this year as one of the oldest and largest assistance dog organizations. These remarkable dogs perform daily tasks for people with disabilities such as opening and closing doors, retrieving dropped items, turning off and on light switches, etc. enabling people with disabilities to become more independent. Fundraisers such as the Pete and Mac’s Yappy Hours provide funding to enable Canine Companions to provide these dogs at no cost to the recipient.”

Please join us at Pete and Mac’s Recreational Resort for Pets in the Northland, 5860 NW Prairie View Rd., KC, on Wednesday, December 8th     from 4 – 7pm, for the 35th birthday celebration with party worthy drinks, snacks, and a chance to win some great prizes. Canine attendees will enjoy special pet friendly treats and canine companionship. A $5 donation at the door gets you and your dog into the party. Raffle tickets are available now; you don’t have to be present  to win. All donations at the door and for raffle tickets go to Canine Companions for Independence. Additionally Pete and Mac’s coupon books will be available for purchase with $5 of purchases made during the party going to Canine Companions for Independence. Your very small donation can, and will, help to provide funding for Exceptional Dogs for Exceptional People®.

Locander continues, “There will be Canine Companions graduate teams and area volunteer puppy raisers attending the event. You will have a chance to talk about the Canine Companions program and discover how these dogs can change the lives of people with disabilities.”
