The Sussex Fashion Awards 24 February 2011

Nov. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- There’s a host of fabulous Fashion Awards up for grabs during February 2011.  

Voting has been brisk to date and nominations close at Christmas, and it’s up to the Sussex public to nominate their favourites now, to be entered into the Awards.

Judging the nominations are several Sussex professional and VIP’s including The British Fashion Awards winner, Andrew Fionda, who currently designs under the international label Pearce II Fionda, available from the ‘ Designers at Debenhams’ ranges across Debenhams stores worldwide.

Andrew had no hesitation to jump on board and said
“I am thrilled to be part of this event” …

Other judges include Jake Leith, Head of Fashion at the UK’s renowned fashion University of Brighton, and Mike Weatherley MP representing Hove & Portslade who said

“I am pleased to champion the work of those involved in the fashion industry in Sussex”…

The Fashion Trust, a regionally based charity, has been created to link both academics and professionals alike, to focus on the fashion industry, creativity and design and the associated industries linked to fashion.  

The Sussex Fashion Awards are part of that Trust; to galvanize and raise fashion visibility across the county.

A special launch of The Fashion Trust will take place 14 January 2011 with judges, VIPs, and the press present to officially get the Awards open for judging.

800 tickets will be available to purchase online from Mid-December for the Fashion Awards evening, 24 February 2011 being held at a large Hove venue with special VIP tickets available and student discounted tickets available. www.fashionsussex.co.uk

The 11 Award categories feature designers, individuals, online firms, shops, models, photographers across all ranges of clothing inluding womenswear and menswear, accessories, workwear, sportswear and childrenwear.

The Trust and Fashion Awards Director, Michaela Walker added

“With more than 300 nominations already cast across 11 award categories, judging will be tough. It’s a fantastic response by the Sussex public – but we still need more nominations in now, please!” …
