Nov. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Rima Aristocrat is the president and chief executive officer of Willis College, a 114-year old Canadian institution committed to bridging the knowledge gap in the evolving fields of business, information technology, health, hospitality, and clear energy education. Rima is also founder of the Canadian Association of Immigrant Professionals, the Canadian Academic Development Institute, and TeKnoWave Inc. – Canada’s first national aboriginal IT training initiative. She is former executive director of the Business & Professional Women’s Group and International Student Exchange-USSR/George/Canada, chair of the K2000 Initiative, a National Advisory Council member of UNEVOC Canada, and director of the Technology Sciences Institute and Willis Solutions. Rima has received several honors for her thirty-five year contribution to the academic field, including selection as a finalist for both the 2001 Business Person of the Year Award by the Greater Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and the 2001 Businesswoman’s Achievement Award by the Women’s Business Network, and recognition as one of Ottawa’s 100 most influential leaders in Chatelaine’s special edition Who’s Who of Canadian Women. Rima was appointed as an ambassador of Xiangfan City, Hubei Province, China and commended for her commitment to scholarship in the emerging technological era by the Friends of United Nations. Equally admirable is her academic achievements, which include a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and a Master of Education degree. Rima attributes her success to her personal philosophy that “We as human beings are merely travelers between birth and death, marks we choose to leave along the journey, are up to us.” In her spare time, she enjoys ballroom dancing and the company of her four daughters and four grandchildren.
