Nov. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- ICA Expo Coop 2010(International Co-operative Alliance), is all set to host its second edition of the international trade fair for the global co-operative movement in Bangalore. ICA Expo Coop is the unique exhibition in the world focusing on the co-operative movement, a sector that promotes social responsibility and self-sustaining development as well as commercial success. Over 130 co-operative exhibitors from 22 countries will be participating in the mega show.

The International Co-operative Alliance EXPO opens its door to all professionals looking out for better business opportunities across the globe. The exhibition aims at enhancing commercial development, increasing exposure and networking, as well as providing abundant trading opportunities among cooperatives and leading non cooperative buyers and suppliers.

The significance of the ICA Expo is that it is a unique platform where buyers have a direct contact with the producers without an intermediate. This results in high quality products arriving at reasonable rate to the consumers. ICA Expo Coop's professional visitors will have a wide selection of competitive products and services ranging from agricultural, consumer, worker and service co-operatives (health, energy, and others). The suppliers of goods and services for the co-operative sector will demonstrate the financial and competitive advantages of co-operative products on which supermarkets, tourism (hotel and restaurant), distributors and wholesalers, traders who specialize in food and beverage, importers and exporters as well as government entities rely on.

Co-operatives from Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic,  Georgia, Korea, India, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, East Timor, UK and the U.S.A., will join the hosted country to showcase exclusive co-operative products and services to increase their import and export opportunities. They will benefit from significant business opportunities offered by the market today.

The Business Round Programme, the new initiative taken by the International Cooperative Alliance this year, aims to increase business opportunities for exhibitors by identifying and bringing selected buyers from around the world to meet co-operatives and do business at ICA ExpoCoop.

Iain Macdonald, Former Director General of the International Co-operative Alliance and spokesperson for ICA EXPO 2010, said "EXPO 2010 is set to be a very successful event giving real life to the 6th principle of the Co-operative Movement, Co-operating among Co-operatives. At a time when the world is suffering badly from the excesses of neo liberal economics, the co-operative sector is providing  much needed  important stability, showing that business can be successfully run in a risk averse and ethical style providing jobs and opportunity across the globe. This trade fair will emphasis the considerable role that co-operatives already play in the world economy and showcase the tremendous variety of products and services that we have to offer".

The success of the ICA ExpoCoop first edition has attracted international buyers and traders who have already assured their presence in the event’s second edition. The organizers expect to create much business as well as strategic alliances and marketing development for the co-operatives and entities of this sector.
