Baby Boomers Boost Cosmetic Surgery Industry in Recession

Dec. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- The generation of peace, love, and change embarks on a major social change as the oldest of the baby boomer generation turns 65 January, 1, 2011.    Marked with high divorce rates, competition in the work place by millennials, and the emergence of the “cougar”, the baby boomer generation has changed the curve on aging unlike previous generations.  In 2009, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery reported over 17 million cosmetic procedures performed in the United States, the majority of which contributed by the aging baby boomer population.  Top procedures reported amongst baby boomers included: blepharoplasty, liposuction, abdominoplasty, and anti-aging treatments such as Botox.
