Zimbrick Volunteer Network Helps Ten Families In Need With Thanksgiving Meals

Nov. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- The Zimbrick Volunteer Network at our Fish Hatchery Road campus of car dealerships in Madison announces a $250 commitment to the United Way of Dane County for their Thanksgiving turkey dinner drive and encourages community support for this great cause.

United Way of Dane County, in a partnership with Community Action Coalition (CAC), plans to provide 5,800 turkey meals to needy families in Dane County this year.  That’s an increase of nearly 60 percent over last year’s 3,600 meals.

By providing a Thanksgiving meal to a low income family, $25 donors are fighting homelessness.  Thanks to the generous donations of the community, fewer people will have to make the difficult decision between buying their Thanksgiving meal or paying rent.

To provide a Thanksgiving meal for a family in need, make a generous $25 donation at http://www.unitedwaydanecounty.org/turkey.  You can also make a donation by texting “T-U-R-K-E-Y” to 24104.  A United Way representative will call you back to take your credit card information.

This year, pantry-users can receive their Thanksgiving meal directly from their local pantry where they’re familiar with the location and staff.  United Way and CAC will provide the turkeys and side dishes through the community’s $25 donations. The donation from Zimbrick Fish Hatchery Road kicked off the launch of the Zimbrick Volunteer Network, a group of Zimbrick employees who are committed to making a difference in the Madison community.
