Sarah Finlay and Humza Yousaf to take the stage for 5th annual Scottish Asian Business Awards

Former Miss Earth to host Scottish Asian Business Awards alongside Political Activist Hamza Yousaf

Nov. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Come November 24, the Crown Plaza Hotel in Glasgow will be packed with the brightest and most successful Scottish Asian business men and women, honouring their successes in an evening of awards and entertainment. Organisers, Oceanic Consulting are pleased to announce this year’s hosts as former Miss Earth Scotland and budding entrepreneur Sarah Finlay alongside political activist Humza Yousaf.

As a former Miss Earth Scotland turned entrepreneur, Sarah Finlay is no stranger to the business world. By using different coloured chocolate and edible glitter and with over 20 luxurious varieties to choose from, her ‘Miss COCO’ chocolate brand has something to delight even the most ardent chocolate fans. On hosting the awards this year the model turned chocolatier said;

“As a young entrepreneur myself with a growing business portfolio I am honoured to have the opportunity to host the Scottish Asian Business Awards, I don’t doubt the evening will be one of inspirational achievements and who knows, I might be able to pick up an idea or two.”

Hosting alongside Sarah will be Humza Yousaf, a successful Scottish Asian who has worked within the Scottish Parliament with late Bashir Ahmed MSP and who was recently selected as a parliamentary candidate for the SNP in Glasgow. Voicing his support of the Scottish Asian community and Scottish Asian Business Awards, Humza stated;

“From the moment they arrived in Scotland in the 1950’s and 60’s the Scottish Asian community has displayed a work ethic second to none. It is a tribute to this ethos that more and more young Asian entrepreneurs are breaking through the ranks and contributing so significantly towards the Scottish economy. The Scottish Asian Business Awards plays an absolutely vital role in not only recognising this talent but creating role models for the next generation of Asian entrepreneurs to look up to."

Both hosts will be donning outfits from Glasgow based designer Anjali Modha, who opened her first store, Anjali’s Boutique, in 2009 looking to bring another dimension to Asian fashion in Scotland.

Over 500 people are expected to attend the awards that recognise the top entrepreneurs from Asian business community in Scotland. Now in their 5th annual year, 2010 hopes to celebrate this milestone with the most successful awards yet. With the likes of Alex Salmond and Iain Gray MSP in attendance, and with Sarah and Humza hosting this year, it looks like the awards are well on their way to achieving this dream.
