OF 2011 "NHL HERITAGE CLASSIC"

Toronto, ONT – Gameday Merchandising announced today that they have reached an agreement with the National Hockey League (NHL) to oversee and manage the retail operations for the 2011 NHL Heritage Classic™ game, which will be held outdoors on February 20, 2011 at McMahon Stadium and feature the Montreal Canadiens hosted by the Calgary Flames.

Gameday Merchandising will provide a turn-key retail solution on-site and at all the activities surrounding the event. Gameday has an arsenal of retail assets that they used during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games that will allow them to fully take advantage of the retail opportunities that present themselves during the NHL Heritage Classic.

“We are excited to be working with Gameday Merchandising at the inaugural
NHL Heritage Classic,” says Barry Monaghan, the NHL’s Vice President of Retail Sales & Marketing in Canada. “As the NHL brings the game back to its roots on this special day, Gameday Merchandising will help us provide fans with the commemorative merchandise that they will treasure for years to come, reminding them of what it was like to be at this historic event.”

"Gameday Merchandising is excited about the opportunity to work with the NHL," said Gameday Merchandising president Alan Fey. “We look forward to working with the league and its licensees to develop a comprehensive merchandise line that will reflect the significance of the NHL Heritage Classic."
