LetsHelpAnimals.org launched to make a difference for animal shelters.

Nov. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- In 2009 we spent $156 Billion shopping online. The Humane Society of the United States estimates in that same time, about 4 million cats and dogs were euthanized – about one every 8 seconds.

Our goal is to harness the power of animal lovers, and see what difference we can make by simply using this site (www.letshelpanimals.org) as our starting point to shopping.  It will add perhaps one or two clicks extra to get you to where you would normally go – but I consider that a small sacrifice in order to offer something back to the animals that have given us so much.

When you use the links and buy something, this site is recorded as the origin of that purchase, and due to an affiliate status (almost like a sales representative), a commission is paid.  You pay the same price as if you never saw us, and get the exact  same retailer experience.

How much will this site make?  We have no idea.  Our starting pledge is to give 50% of everything to causes, specific animal cases of need, or organizations with the grand goal of improving the lives of animals or highlighting the role that they play in our lives.  We will not focus on huge funds/charity groups – but ones with a size that allow us to make an immediate impact with our contribution.  There are similar web sites out there dedicated to human causes (they only give back around 10%), but none that we found that helped the animals this way.

Seemed kind of simple to us.  We pay nothing more for our products, use the same companies we would have anyway, yet a small portion is always funneled back to helping shelters and rescues.

We plan on posting all donations that are made through our efforts, as well as the photos and stories that are behind them.  Should anyone have an opportunity they think would be worthy, please let us know!! We will be partnering up with rescues/shelters so that we may tap into their network and community, to make them aware of the cause and its ability to help.

www.letshelpsanimals.org will also be sharing stories related to rescue animals and the lives that they affect.
