Nov. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Petrolheads will be heading to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the start of next month for the Dubai International Rally.

The event, which is the final leg of the 2010 FIA Middle East Rally Championship, will take place between December 2nd and 4th, with the season's overall winner crowned at the end of it.

Motoring organisation the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE) is behind the competition, with the body's president Mohammed Ben Solayem still holding the record for the most victories in the Dubai race.

The driver took the spoils at the event 15 times between 1985 and 2002, and has also won the championship title on 14 occasions - a feat that the ATCUAE believes is unlikely to be equalled in the near future.

However, entrants will this year be looking to emulate Nasser Al-Attiyah's victory in 2009 behind the wheel of a Subaru Impreza. The Qatari driver finished ahead of Abdullah Al Qassimi and Misfer Al-Marri to win the race.
