Local Chevrolet dealer donates money to Stevenson Memorial Hospital for liking on Facebook

Nov. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- ALLISTON, ON - Ernie Dean Chevrolet Buick GMC wants everyone to “like” them, and they’re giving away $1,000 to make it happen. The Alliston dealership will be donating $1 for every person that likes them on Facebook to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation.

“We’re using Facebook to connect with the community where we live and work. If we can help the community by supporting a good cause at the same time, we’re happy to do so,” says General Manager Frank Dean.

Ernie Dean Chevrolet Buick GMC joined the popular social networking site in July of 2010. Since then they have been using the platform to keep those interested up-to-date on new product launches and dealer news. They also use the site interact with the community by discussing local topics, and posting photographs of happy customers with their new cars, trucks and SUV’s.

And friends and customers have responded. With over 200 fans so far, they hope the added incentive of a donation to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation for each person who clicks “Like” on their page will allow them to donate $1,000 by January 1.

One fan posts on the Ernie Dean’s Facebook page, “It is great to see you using social media to benefit your customers. Everyone loves to see a happy customer taking delivery of their new vehicle. Now they can show off to their facebook friends just how proud they are of their shiny new one.”

“Facebook offers a great way for us to interact with our customers and neighbours, we hope donating $1 for each person who likes our page to supporting Stevenson Memorial Hospital will help to get that interaction going,” says Dean.
