Nov. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Amazing Books app brings children’s pop-up books to your iPhone®, iPad™, or iPod®. Based around their exclusive and interactive Flomotion™ control system developed for mobile platforms, Amazing Books™ ( www.theamazingbooks.com ) updates the classic pop-up book for the digital age.

Simply by running your finger back and forth across the screen, you make the characters come to life and perform each part of the story as you read. Ever wanted to take control of Jack as he scrambles down the vine with that mean old giant closing inches behind? Now you can! You are in control of the "flow" of the animation. Drag your finger slowly, super fast or any speed you wish and watch the characters move. You can even reverse the animation by moving your finger backwards. This technology brings a new level of interaction and involvement to every story, and immerses the user in each page.

Designed for children ages 2 to 8, their second literary classic, “Jack and the Beanstalk 3D” (24 pages), is available in English, Spanish and French on iTunes. It features a 'universal download' viewable in both Stereoscopic (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) versions on the iPad™ plus a two-dimensional (2D) version viewable on the iPhone®, and iPod touch®.

“Jack and The Beanstalk” is currently featured in both the iPhone and iPad ‘NEW AND NOTEWORTHY’ categories on iTunes.

“The Three Little Pigs 3D” was a featured app in the iPad ‘NEW AND NOTEWORTHY’ and “WHAT’S HOT” sections.

“The Three Little Pigs 3D” received a 5 out of 5 bar review by Yahoo’s APPOLICIOUS with the headline: “Three Little Pigs 3D iPad app reinvents children’s books.”

Both applications are priced at $2.99.

The Amazing line of books will continue in November 2010 with the release of , “RED RIDING HOOD 3D” and the first in the LIL’ TRAVELER series of books, “MY FIRST TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC 3D.”

About the music: Richard Sherman and his brother Robert are perhaps best known for the song, "It's a Small World," featured in the theme park ride of the same name at Disneyland, Disney World and other Disney properties. Together they also were awarded two Oscars for their music in the Disney feature film, "Mary Poppins," the stage version of which currently can be seen on Broadway and around the world as well.  As composers and lyricists they created other songs in films including "Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang, The Jungle Book, Snoopy Come Home, Winnie the Pooh, The Parent Trap, The Aristocats," and "Charlotte's Web.”  Mr. Sherman recently added a new and original song to the soundtrack of “Iron Man 2” and coming soon, “Captain America.”

"We're thrilled that a composer of Richard Sherman's caliber has brought our Amazing characters to life," said Ben Rosenberg, co-founder of Amazing Books. "His songs have stayed in the minds and hearts of generations children and adults. We're sure his memorable tunes will help our delightful books remain in your own children’s hearts and minds as well."

Mr. Sherman wrote 8 songs for the upcoming book releases and instrumental versions will be available on ITunes, free download, preceding the release of a full album of original music plus lyrics in 2011.

"When initially approached by the partners, I was intrigued by the way they approached the re-telling of these stories and the wonderfully unique characters and worlds created," Sherman said. "Pop-up books have been a favorite of mine since I was boy, and after one viewing of the product, I realized I would be part of something unique and extraordinary. How very amazing!!"

About Richard M. Sherman: Born in 1928 in New York City to Rosa and Al Sherman, who was also a songwriter. Richard and his brother, Robert, wrote their first hit song, "Tall Paul," in 1958 for Mouseketeer Annette Funicello. The tune caught the attention of Walt Disney, who hired the Sherman Brothers to write songs for his movies. The Shermans wrote "It's a Small World" for the New York World's Fair in 1964 and won two Academy Awards the next year for their songs in the Disney film, "Mary Poppins." They both have earned nine Academy Award nominations, two Grammy Awards and four Grammy nominations, and 23 gold and platinum albums. The Sherman Brothers were inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in New York City in 2005, and wrote music for the stage adaptations of "Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang" and "Mary Poppins" in recent years. In 2008, the Sherman Brothers were awarded the National Medal of Arts at the White House. The National Medal of Arts is the highest award bestowed onto artist by the United States Government.
