Talent Management: Robert Pattinson To Front Burberry Campaign?
According to the weekend papers, and the rumours going around the Talent Management offices, Burberry is after yet another film star to front their campaign.
And the ladies out there will be happy to know that the man on every fashionista’
Could this be Pattison following in the footsteps of Harry Potter’s Emma Watson, the face of Burberry’s A/W 2009 and S/S 2010 campaigns? Well, unfortunately it doesn’t look that way at the moment.
Pattison, who refused to comment when asked about the deal, is said to have politely refused the reported £1million offer, all in the name of his acting career.
A source to The Mirror said: “As far as Robert sees things he's an actor by trade and that's his art. He doesn't want to start becoming a brand or anything.
“Burberry really hoped Robert would do it. They know he wears Burberry occasionally, and he's met Christopher [Bailey – Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer] and the team before. They only wanted him. Robert's look would have been perfect, so they're back to square one.”
We at Talent Management agree; Burberry’s distinctive British sensibility would be a perfect fit for London-born Pattinson, who in fact has a history in modelling which began when he was just 12.
However, although he appeared in Hackett's autumn 2007 ad campaign, it seems Pattinson feels his modelling career was “unsuccessful”
“When I first started [modelling] I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs, because it was during that period where the androgynous look was cool,” Pattinson said.
“Then, I guess, I became too much of a guy, so I never got any more jobs. I had the most unsuccessful modelling career.”
Although the man known as Edward Cullen is currently busy out in Brazil filming the final in the Twilight series, ‘Breaking Dawn’, here's the team at Talent Management hoping Pattinson re-evaluates his decline and returns to the modelling world.
