Tallahassee Used Cars: Safety Tips for College Students
Tips and Suggestions for College Students on How to be Safe.
By: Proctor Cars
Crowded Areas are Perfect for Parking
When it comes to parking on campus or at any hot spot in your used cars in Tallahassee, you will want to make sure that you park in a crowded lot where there are a lot of other people and vehicles. You don’t want to have your car in an isolated spot because it will be more vulnerable to theft and vandalism.
Lock the Doors of your Tallahassee Used Cars
Make sure that you lock your doors every time you get out of used cars in Tallahassee, even if you are only planning on getting out of the car for a minute or two. If you leave your car unlocked, especially on a campus setting, it will increase the chances of someone going into your car and stealing your belongings, or the car itself. Also, it will help prevent physical attacks and assaults, because no one will be able to get into your car without you knowing it if it is locked.
Have a Passenger at Nighttime
It is getting dark a lot earlier now in Tallahassee because of the recent time change. If you decide to go to the library, go to a club, or anywhere at night then try to avoid driving alone. Whenever you get to your destination you don’t want to have to get out of your car by yourself. If you are by yourself late at night, then you could be more likely to get targeted by a criminal.
Don't Text While Driving
Never text while you are trying to drive. You can now be issued a ticket in Tallahassee and throughout the state of Florida if a police officer catches you texting in Tallahassee used cars while driving. Texting while driving is causing more and more accidents, and can be very dangerous, so definitely avoid doing this while driving. If you like to talk on the phone while driving, then consider investing in a blue tooth so you don’t have to hold a phone to your ear.
Avoid the Road When It Gets Late
Remember that old saying, “nothing good happens past midnight”. Well, when it comes to being a driver on the road, these same rules apply. In Tallahassee a lot of the local bars and clubs close around 2:00 a.m. This means that the roads are more likely to be filled with people that have been drinking and driving, especially on Tennessee Street. If you do decide to stay out late, try to leave before closing time in your Tallahassee used cars.
Wear Your Seat Belt
This is a given for many, but it is important to always remember that wearing a seat belt can save your life. Also in Tallahassee we have the “Click it OR Ticket” law that states a police officers are allowed to pull you over and issue you a ticket if they see that you are not wearing a seat belt in your Tallahassee used cars.
Don't Ride with Drunk People
Again, this seems like it is common sense, but a lot of college students go out to bars and clubs and then get behind the wheel of their Tallahassee used cars drunk. Never get in the car with someone that has been drinking if they are driving. Call a cab or a friend to help. It is better to avoid a DUI and/or accident, because you never know when something might happen, especially if you throw alcohol in the mix.
Some of these tips might seem a little elementary, but the truth of the matter is they can save your life and help you in many situations. Your safety should always come first on the road when driving Tallahassee used cars. If you find yourself in a compromising situation remember to yell for help, call 911 if you can get to a phone, or try setting off your car alarm to call attention to yourself.
