Nov. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- NEWBURY PARK, CALIF.--Firefighters from Ventura County Station #44 came to visit preschoolers at the Miller Family YMCA last week. The kids learned about fire safety and how to dial 911 in emergencies.

The preschoolers also got to learn about and touch firefighting equipment, walk through the fire truck and sit in the truck's front cabin. "The highlight was getting a chance to spray the fire hose," says Veronica Rodarte, program director at the Miller YMCA. "Fire Captain Jon Jelle was very patient with the kids and answered all their questions. I think he enjoyed the day as much as the kids did."

For more information about the Miller Family YMCA preschool, call Veronica Rodarte at 805-480-0309, or e-mail, vrodarte@millerymca.org.
