PRLog -- The Lionfish Group LLC. has announced that they will be bringing their film " The Confessional"
to the AFM film market to test the waters. After a successful limited theater run via Landmark Theaters across the nation the film is ready for distribution deals with distributors in cable, TV and foreign rights markets say staff. The debut feature by writer / director James Anthony Cotton has gotten good reviews and has been building an audience fan base in their calculated move to market. In a original decision to bypass the film festival route the filmmakers were able to take the film direct to theaters across the nation in an early market test and succeeded in wetting the market for the truly original script . "We felt that the film has a good market with the thriller/suspense audience and didn't want to give it away to the film festival circuit when we believed that the film had more value in theater runs and domestic distribution channels that we could supply. It is now time to see if we can leverage a deal to the best advantage for us and our distributors so that we both come out in front. It's been too long that the market for truly independent lower budget films have been dominated by the same old story lines...We think that audience is ripe to see something new and knowing that it was done a lower budget even more so. The story line is something that is in the news almost everyday, scandals of cleric abuse and such, our story takes this idea into the future of a tormented mind and it's creepy outcome." Reviews from movie sites from screeners have rated 3 1/2 out 4. The film is creepy in the Hitchcock tradition.
