Punishment is out, problem-solving is in for raising today's digital children

Parenting must change in order to raise digital children effectively in our electronic world. A new DVD, Plugged-In Parenting, will show parents how to keep children safe, healthy and best of all, connected.

June 28, 2011 - PRLog -- A new video called "Plugged-In Parenting: Connecting with the Digital Generation for Health, Safety and Love" promotes problem-solving over punishment in helping parents build connections with their digital generation.

As children grow up in the digital age, parenting has changed to keep up.  Parents are now being told to help their children problem solve issues, including sticky parenting situations such as discipline.  As the sandbox is being replaced by the world wide web, parents no longer can supervise and enforce limits set with their children, and now must build good communication lines between themselves and their children so the kids go to them for help, advice and guidance while discovering the internet and global digital world.  Punishment is out, problem solving is in.

The DVD is being released by Professional Parenting Canada, featuring Judy Arnall, bestselling author of "Discipline Without Distress: 135 tools for raising caring responsible children without time-out, spanking, punishment or bribery."  The 2 hour video can be ordered from
