Nov. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Easley, S.C. – The 15th annual Green River Narrows Race, one of the most thrilling and challenging events in whitewater, takes place this coming weekend near Saluda, N.C. The festivities kick off with a premier party and raffle hosted by Lunch Video Magazine (LVM).  Adventure Technology is stepping up its involvement this year by donating an AT2 Superduty paddle for raffle.  All proceeds benefit the Green River Access Fund to ensure continued access to the iconic stretch of the river.

Adventure Technology (AT) athlete and current race record holder, Andrew Holcombe, is hosting two podcasts of the weekend’s action that will be posted on the Green Race website.  The first podcast will be Andrew breaking down the course pre-race and the second will be from the race itself and will be posted online Monday, Nov. 8.

“The Green Race is a grassroots kayaking competition legendary for the caliber of athletes it attracts and excitement it evokes from the crowds on the shore.  It is a celebration of the athletes, the river, the spectators and the culture,” said Lila Thomas, sales and marketing manager for Adventure Technology. “It captures the spirit of the whitewater community, of which AT is a passionate supporter. Our donation to the Green River Access Fund raffle is one way we can support the future of river access to this incredible run for all paddlers.”

“Andrew’s podcast of the weekend is another way to share the essence of the race,” Thomas added. “As reigning champion of the Green River Race, and one of the fastest paddlers in the world, Andrew is in the position to offer a unique insider’s point of view.”

The LVM kickoff party and raffle to support the Green River Access Fund is scheduled for 9 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2010, at the Asheville Pizza Company.  An AT2 Superduty paddle, valued at $500, is one of the many great raffle prizes.

Designed for durability and excellent performance, the AT2 Superduty race-winning paddle was tested extensively on the Green River Narrows as part of the research and development process in bringing this bomber paddle to market. It features AT’s standard premium technologies, including full control grip, unibody construction and Dynell edging.  It has earned its reputation for being unbreakable and is the only paddle to offer a limited lifetime warranty on the shaft.

The 15th annual Green Race will start at 12pm on Nov. 6, 2010, just outside of Saluda, North Carolina. For more information about the Green Race and Adventure Technology, please visit http://www.atpaddles.com.

About Adventure Technology:
In 1993, an idea for the first, whitewater-specific, ergonomic paddle was born. That idea grew into Adventure Technology (AT), a paddle maker who doesn’t seek to “balance” adventure with technology, but rather seeks to push both concepts to the outer limits. AT now delivers premium whitewater and touring paddles known for excellence in design, craftsmanship and innovation. In 2009, AT joined the rest of the Confluence Watersports family in Easley, S.C., to continue its legacy of dedicated research and development, all in the name of a good adventure. www.atpaddle.com
