Oct. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- SEATTLE, Wash. In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, registration is now open for the 2011 season of the Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series®. Aiming to top last year’s record-breaking success of 5,500 participants and nearly $350,000 contributed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Tubbs Romp to Stomp introduces seven event sites for the 2011 season.

As the popularity of snowshoeing rises and cold weather eases in, participants of the Tubbs Romp to Stomp Snowshoe Series can look forward to a festive, family-friendly way to extend the fight against breast cancer beyond October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Tubbs Romp to Stomp Snowshoe Series brings snowshoers of all levels and ages together to raise money in support of breast cancer education and research. The snowshoe series has raised $1.3 million for breast cancer since 2003.

“There is nothing better than walking through the snow with 700 strangers, whose hearts are all focused on one cause,” said Tiffany Simpson of Portland, Ore., who participated in the 2010 Oregon Romp to Stomp. “It was heartwarming, challenging and inspiring all at the same time.”

Free demo snowshoes will be offered by Tubbs on a first-come, first-serve basis, and participants can choose from a 3k or 5k snowshoe walk or a 3k snowshoe race in the following locations:

2011 Dates/sites:
January 22: Mountain Creek Resort, Vernon, NJ
January 29: Stratton Mountain Resort, Stratton, VT
February 5: Mountain Dell Golf Course, Salt Lake City, UT
February 12: The Stevens Pass Nordic Center, WA
February 19: Scenic Caves, Town of the Blue Mountains, ON, Canada
February 26: White River West Sno Park, Mt Hood, OR
March 5: Frisco Nordic Center, Frisco, CO

With registration for the Romp to Stomp events now open, snowshoers can jump online for the special “Early Bird” rate and save up to $15 off of registration fees. Tubbs Romp to Stomp encourages kids to get involved as well. The Lil Romper program includes a discounted registration fee for kids ages 6-12, free registration for Lil Bitty Rompers 0-5, and, new for 2011, the Lil Romper Dash—an optional snowshoe sprint just for kids. Those who want to get involved but can’t make the event can register for “Snowed in for the Cause” –a fun way to fundraise and feel part of the Romp.  Each event will feature goodie bags for all participants, a sweepstakes, a breast cancer survivor tribute, and top fundraising prizes from Tubbs Snowshoes and other Romp to Stomp sponsors.
