Oct. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- San Diego, Ca – San Diego Boca FC will be partnering with Non-Profit Embrace during their second annual “Embrace the Streets” event, which is being held on November 14th at 16th and Island in Downtown, San Diego from 12:15 pm to 2:30 pm, to provide clothes and blankets to the homeless community.

San Diego Boca FC President Yan Skwara said, “This is a terrific opportunity for our organization to part of a great cause. Embrace has started an amazing community outreach program that addresses a need that is held very closely by a many citizens in the San Diego community. We encourage anyone who has the ability to donate a blanket or clothes to help the less fortunate to do so by coming to our Boca Soccer Store in Old Town and dropping off your donation.”

Embrace CEO Sean Sheppard founded the organization in 2000 to promote social and physical wellness programs that serve underprivileged communities in several ways. Embrace’s programs are designed to connect college student leaders to San Diego’s multi-cultural community in the areas of social and physical wellness through service learning and volunteerism. The organization is built on the philosophy that serving less fortunate members of society brings people together- irrespective of race, religion or cultural upbringing.

Embrace CEO Sean Sheppard commented, “We are thrilled to be working with San Diego’s Soccer Community and San Diego Boca FC. We have a limited amount of time to collect enough blankets to help the less fortunate and having the Boca Soccer Store in Old Town as a drop off center is going maximize donation opportunities to help homeless civilians and homeless veterans. We appreciate San Diego Boca FC and their efforts on and off the field.”

The collection phase of the second annual Embrace the Streets program will be effective from Friday, October 29, 2010 through Friday, November 5, 2010 consisting of a clothes, and blankets drive. The second phase of the program will begin Sunday, November 14 at 12:15 pm as the organization will directly distribute the collected goods to the homeless.

San Diego Boca FC has established a collection center at the Boca Soccer Store. Members of the San Diego Boca FC First Team will also be involved during the distribution phase on Sunday, November 14, 2010. San Diego Boca FC is committed to promoting social responsibility and bettering the San Diego community.(c)(3) nonprofit organization built on the philosophy
