Starring Christopher Plummer as Tolstoy in the latter stages of his life, and Helen Mirren as his wife and muse, the film depicts their battle over his idealistic goals. The Ramen Girl is a comedy about an American girl, played by Brittany Murphy, who is adrift in Tokyo, trying to find direction in life by becoming a râmen noodle soup chef under a tyrannical Japanese master chef. Fear and Trembling brilliantly captures the essence and nuances of Japanese corporate culture, where loyalty is prized above all, and self-propelled initiative is aggressively discouraged. Based on an autobiography, the film won several foreign film awards, including France’s César Award for Best Actress. Based on an actual incident in his life, film Director Gianni Di Gregorio (Gomorrah) wrote the script for Mid-August Lunch, acted in the film, and used his own apartment in Rome for the set. This award-winning film is a tale about good food, feisty ladies, and unlikely friendships. More than 65 performances by the world's finest musicians were recorded and 100 interviews conducted in the making of In Search of Beethoven. This docu-drama delves beneath the mythical image of the tortured, cantankerous genius to search for the real Ludwig van Beethoven. Enhanced by surround sound, films will be shown in the comfort of Schein Performance Hall, with a high-definition projection system and large screen to provide a superb cinematic presentation. Listening devices are available for the hearing impaired. General Admission is $7, or purchase a Film Booklet of 13 tickets for $91.
