Annual $7,500 Charity Paint Giveaway Event

Oct. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- A.Allbright Painting is gearing up for our 6th annual Painting for Charity Event, Paint It Forward 2010!  The last couple of years have been rough for many in our community, making it all the more important to give back in any way we can.

We are looking for a deserving Santa Clarita Valley Area family or commendable nonprofit organization that needs painting but simply cannot afford it.  What we want is for this community to nominate someone!  All you need do is send us their story along with some pictures.  You can even do it anonymously if you like.  Then A.Allbright Painting as a whole—every one of us!—will meet and vote to choose the winner the day before Thanksgiving.

Last year’s 2009 recipient of the Paint It Forward Charity Giveaway was Dan and Karen Allan.  Dan had suffered a T2 spinal cord injury in a freak accident and has been paralyzed from the chest down. He has been unable to work since the accident, and the medical bills have piled up. Upon seeing Dan’s home and the needs that he had, such as not being able to take a shower or bath since his accident because of his bathroom access, we called in our area’s most trusted group of contractors with Just SCV’s Best. Many other local contractors joined us last year to make life even better for Dan.  Surfaces USA remodeled Dan’s bathroom and put in a floor shower so he can finally shower in his wheelchair.  Fine Faucets donated the bathroom fixtures, Elite Flooring donated some much needed area rugs to help with the hard tile flooring, Brodie Electric added new lighting, Preferred Glass widened Dan’s bedroom doorway, and Anaya’s Window Coverings added some final touches with window treatment. This speaks volumes to our community’s values — when most contractors are scaling back their businesses, these contractors are focusing on giving back to their hometown.
