By: Kasim Sulton - Promotions Kasim’s last performed at the Abbey in May of 2010. Since that appearace he has been on several short tours with Todd Rundgren while working on his own new album. This is a show not to be missed by any true music lover. Kasim puts on a fantastic solo show, engaging his audience with great stories and playful conversations Kasim's album will be his last "proper CD" and he is asking fans to participate in the making of it. "The Project" which is a working title, allows for fan participation. He is asking his fans to submit a photograph for a small fee that will be to be used for the cover art, a photo mosaic of himself. "The Project" is limited to 1,000 submissions, and each participating fan will get a signed CD, a poster of the artwork and a chance to have Kasim Sulton play a concert one lucky fan's "living room". He is credited with writing and singing Utopia's only top 30 hit, "Set Me Free." In his solo career, Sulton has released 4 albums of his own material starting with the self-titled debut album, Kasim in (1982), followed by a collaborative album with fellow Blackheart Thommy Price titled, Lights On (1986) from which the song "No TV No Phone” was featured in the 1987 film The Allnighter, starring Susanna Hoffs. This offering was followed by The Basement Tapes (1993), Quid Pro Quo (2002), All Sides (2007) and the DVD, Kasim Sulton - Live in Atlanta (2008). Sulton will spend the remainder of 2010 playing a few more shows with Todd Rundgren and then it is back to the studio to complete his album. New York has always been home to singer/songwriter Kasim Sulton. He was born in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island at the age of six where he still lives today.
