Hello My Name is Linda is the second film from writer and director Curt Babcock. Babcock's first film, Blood Trail, was the winner of The IFFF Best Horror 2009. " Our goal on Blood Trail was just to finish. With Linda we wanted to test ourselves by making a bigger film." said Babcock. A bigger film indeed Linda doubled their cast and crew size. Accompanied by enough company moves( when cast and crew move from one location to another) to make Hollywood producers groan, their budget should have doubled... it didn't. "On the first day of pre-production I was asked how much do we need to make this film? I answered 50,000 dollars. I was then asked how much do we have? I answered 2,000 dollars. No one even batted an eye we went to work." said Babcock. Chris Bazylevich, one of the film's producers and associate producer Kenny Morrell locked up location in and around Dover,NJ, Curt began casting near by NYC talent, Ted Bazylevich, Stephen Zimkin, and Joe Olinger constructed and found props, wardrobe, etc. "The film took on a life of it's own." says Chris Bazylevich "When we are making a film we eat breath and sleep the film it's the only way it'll get done."
Hello My Name is Linda follows two want to be drug dealers, Mickey and Brian over the course of one night. Who come home to find their "supply" stolen and a dead girl lying on their floor. The only thing they know about her from the sticker on her chest that reads "Hello My Name is Linda". Now they have one night to find out who she is and who stole their get rich quick scheme, oh and pay back the ruthless gangster who fronted the coke. Complete with a Russian cabbie, Mexican hit men, and a sleazy landlord, played by the creator of The Toxic Avenger Lloyd Kaufman, Hello My Name is Linda is a dark comedy, shoot em' up romance all at the same time.
So on November 5th if you should find yourself in the Tribeca neighborhood go and see this truly independent film Hello My Name is Linda.
