Sanidoor fights germs in South Florida commercial buildings

Oct. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- Tenants and guests visiting Congress Pointe Financial Corp. in Boca Raton, will encounter a completely germ-free experience in its new buildings’ restrooms.

Sanidoor, the touch-free door-opening system is installed in Congress Pointe Financial Corp.’s two new buildings. Sanidoor protects six bathrooms in Congress Pointe’s main 50,000-square-foot building, while the company’s adjacent 17,000 square-foot building contains two Sanidoor units. Sanidoor complements the public restroom touch-free experience. For years, builders installed touch-free toilets, sinks, soap dispensers and hand dryers, but no tool helped the consumer avoid touching the dirty restroom door upon exiting.

After using the bathroom, 57 percent of men and 46 percent of women do not wash their hands, according to the American Society for Microbiology. Unwashed users often contaminate public restroom doors with an array of germs. Sanidoor’s unique technology is helping to prevent the spread of those germs at an increasing number of public restrooms across the country.

“The buildings’ owner, OIII Realty Limited Partnership, wanted the restrooms to be touch free so our tenants and guests would not have to worry about the spread of germs,” said Phil Kokotoff, who helped oversee the construction of the Congress Pointe buildings. “Sanidoor not only makes our buildings attractive, the touch-free system ultimately saves us money, and tenants money, on Common Area Maintenance charges, such as power and restroom supplies.”
Kokotoff said the buildings’ owner first encountered the touch-free Sanidoor while eating at a West Palm Beach restaurant and wanted to install the unique, germ-prevention system in his Boca Raton buildings.
