Scavenger Crawl Teams Up With Bay Area Derby Girls for One Amazing Race

Scavenger Hunt Pub Crawl Event to Support the Bay’s Baddest Girls on Roller Skates

Oct. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Oct. 26, 2010 – Scavenger Crawl (www.scavengercrawl.org), a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the Bay Area community, has partnered with the Bay Area Derby Girls (www.BayAreaDerbyGirls.com) for the 4th semi-annual scavenger hunt + pub crawl + adventure race to be held on November 14th in San Francisco.

The Bay Area Derby Girls (BAD Girls) will be co-sponsoring the event and receiving the fundraising dollars to continue to raise San Francisco’s profile in the world of competitive roller skating. In the spirit of all out, knock ‘em down, roller derby fun, this November’s event promises to be the most daring and racy adventure of the year.

During the Scavenger Crawl, teams of 2-5 participants will have the opportunity to scour the San Francisco streets in search of clues, challenges and a couple drinks. The race is modeled off of the popular television show that asks teams to race around the world in a finite amount of time. Scavenger Crawlers will be given 3 hours to beat the streets of their own city and finish first to win special prizes and everlasting glory.

The lovely ladies of the BAD Girls team will be racing alongside competitors. Bring your bike, blades or Muni/BART pass because the race features a fair-sized neighborhood in San Francisco. Smart phones, friends and a good pair of running shoes are recommended. Teams can also garner points by donning costumes and signing up for the event early.

The race will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 1-5 pm, starting and ending at Sports Basement on 16th and Bryant. Race day challenges are composed of brain draining questions, quick feet and optional beer sipping opportunities, but everyone wins this fun run by supporting SF’s baddest girls. (One team wins prizes and applause.) Proceeds will benefit the Bay Area Derby Girls as they continue their upcoming feud against the Oakland Outlaws and the ShEvil Dead derby teams.
