Rinox Turns Homeowners' Dreams into a Reality

Oct. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Recently, RL Landscape and Design (RL Landscape), a full service landscaping company in Macungie, PA, teamed up with a local Rinox Distributor, to help transform a private residence’s backyard into the ultimate outdoor living space for themselves, by connecting their upper patio and pergola area to a new lower masonry patio.

RL Landscape had several unique challenges that they had to work around to complete this project. The terrain of the backyard was the largest challenge to overcome. Access for the equipment to get to the project area was difficult due to a steep embankment and preexisting boulder work. A large part of the work had to be done manually due to space limitations.

Due to quite a bit of elevation changes and the homeowners wanting a blend of natural stone and concrete to compliment the terrain and existing structures, the Rinox Rio 135 retaining wall series in Ash Charcoal was selected for this project. Rinox’s product had the most natural looking texture to compliment the boulder work and the Ash Charcoal color complimented the wet lay natural flagstone and granite curbing. To solve the steep terrain and elevation issues, RL Landscaping and Design had to first excavate the area followed by base preparation and placement among the natural stone boulder work.  The Rio 135 retaining walls and steps were installed through the boulders giving an age old natural appearance.  The finishing touch to the hardscaping was achieved by installing an angle coping in Ash Charcoal on the retaining walls and steps.

The homeowners were very pleased with the outcome of their landscaping project.
