NetEvidence launches Highlight Flow Support for full visibility into hosts and applications

Highlight Flow Support delivers valuable Flow data about network users and applications, peak usage times, and traffic routing from around the network through Highlight’s clear and concise graphical display.

Flow capabilities are powerful and now widely available in devices from Cisco, Juniper, HP and others. Although it is tempting to try and leverage that functionality because it is already in the network this can have huge repercussions for users. Flow is a complex technology that can be overwhelming for the user through pure information overload.

Highlight Flow Support eliminates these problems.

Keeping Flow data in the Cloud with Highlight Flow Support eliminates worries about storage or accessibility. Highlight’s famous easy-to-use GUI means that a user can sign in from any browser, anywhere and there is no additional tool to install, maintain and learn.  

The Flow information is fully integrated with other Highlight reporting, so it’s easy to relate traffic levels to the hosts and applications that cause them, or drill into individual User-to-Host conversations. For existing Highlight customers, there is no new user interface to learn and no engineering terminology - just better Visibility.

   Top Talkers: Highlight shows which hosts are generating the most traffic. Network managers can identify IP Addresses, DNS names, or assign their own names to specific machines.

   Top Applications: Organisation can see their top applications such as email, web, or in-house systems. Highlight shows what is running on the network and enables users to customise how applications are identified.

   Conversations:  Network managers can pick any Host or Application, and then drill down with a single click to see the conversations making up that traffic. They can identify the User and Server generating a burst of application data or a list of the applications that a power-user is running.

To continue the ease of use for its customers, NetEvidence will ship a small appliance for customers to install in their network, or customers can download the software and run it on their own server.
