Many schools offer programs in Psychotherapy. Most Psychotherapists have a degree in Psychology, Psychoanalysis or a similar field. These programs establish foundational principles of Psychotherapy and teach students the methods used in the field.

East Carolina University

East Carolina University offers several psychology degree programs, which would enable a student to become a licensed psychotherapist. The two main Doctorate degree programs that are offered in the field are Medical Family Therapy and Health Psychology.
