Oct. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Guests frequenting Stonewood Grill & Tavern this weekend will encounter new flavors as the popular Florida restaurant unveils a new menu. This is the first of many scheduled enhancements to the restaurant.

After a three-month review of the restaurant’s guests’ consumptive behavior, Stonewood Grill & Tavern made menu changes to better reflect what guests want.

“Our goal is to evolve the restaurant menu by striking a delicate balance between continuing to serve our loyal guests and attracting new guests simultaneously,” said CEO and President Geoffrey D.K. Stiles. “We consider the newly refined menu an enhancement to our overall environment. And, so far, our customers are confirming we have made the right choices.”

Earlier this year, Stonewood Grill & Tavern management quietly tested the new menu with guests at its location in Heathrow, a suburban community in Seminole County northeast of Orlando.

The initial response was positive. Company officials state that the new menu brought a significant increase in sales at the Heathrow restaurant, located at 1210 International Parkway S. This sales increase pushed the company to hire additional staff and increase its planned investment in employee training programs at all locations.

In April, Stonewood recruited Stiles as its new chief operating officer after he served eight years as president and COO of Orlando, Fla.-based Ruth's Chris Steak House, a publicly traded fine dining company with more than 130 restaurants worldwide. Stiles took over as president and CEO of Stonewood Grill & Tavern’s parent company, Stonewood Holdings LLC, on Oct. 14.

Stiles, who considers himself a steak lover, was instrumental in adding a new rib eye steak to the menu, as well as the new Florida Orange Cake, a three-layer cake made with creamy icing reminiscent of a Dreamsicle dairy dessert.

In tandem with the new menu, Stonewood Grill & Tavern is launching a new wine list, as well as additional improvements coming soon.

“The new wine list will feel familiar and comfortable to our guests because it is high quality and provides a high value at a reasonable price,” Stiles said. “Our guests will recognize the brands on our new list as they are predominantly domestic with the bulk of them coming from California. We’ve priced our wines at such a level of value that we believe our guests will want to keep coming back more frequently.”
