Author to donate to Greg Mortenson ("Three Cups of Tea") to help build schools in Central Asia

Charlie Winger, author of the new memoir "Two Shadows - The inspirational story of one man's triumph over adversity" announces that he will donate $5 per book sale to Greg Mortenson's Central Asia Institute.
Oct. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Mountaineer and guidebook author Charlie Winger announced on October 22, 2010 that he will make a donation to Central Asia Institute, the non-profit organization headed by humanitarian Greg Mortenson, based on sales of Winger’s autobiography, "Two Shadows - The inspirational story of one man's triumph over adversity."

Winger first became interested in Mortenson’s projects of building schools in remote regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan when he attended a presentation given by Mortenson in the late 1990s through the Colorado Mountain Club. At that time, Mortenson was primarily giving presentations to mountaineering groups. His first school-building project came about after he was cared for by villagers near K2 following an unsuccessful climbing expedition to that peak in Pakistan. Mortenson later wrote the bestseller "Three Cups of Tea - One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...One School at a Time" in 2006, and "Stones into School – Promoting Peace with Education in Afghanistan and Pakistan" in 2009.

From now through October 31, 2010, Winger will donate $5.00 per paperback copy sold and $1.00 per Kindle copy sold of his latest book to Central Asia Institute to support Mortenson’s efforts to build and support schools and education.  "Two Shadows" is available in paperback or e-book (Kindle) format from Amazon.com and other online booksellers.
