Oct. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Thieves attempted to steal a blind guinea pig from Wood Green Animal Shelters in Godmanchester.
Rolo, a three-year-old blind guinea pig, had a lucky escape thanks to a quick-thinking member of staff.
Glyn Williams was patrolling the Godmanchester Shelter on Thursday afternoon when he came across two men acting suspiciously.
On closer inspection he realised that one of the men either had a very hair, multi-coloured chest, or he was hiding an animal down his top.
Glyn asked the men to hand over Rolo, which they did reluctantly, before making a speedy getaway from the Shelter.
Thanks to Glyn, Rolo, who arrived at the Shelter in August, is back with his friends in the small animal department. He was given treats including cabbage and dried herbs following his ordeal.
Wood Green has contacted police who are currently using CCTV footage from the Shelter to trace the two men.
