CSR Could Mean Opportunities

ARC comments on comprehensive spending review

Oct. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Commenting on the Chancellor’s Comprehensive Spending Review and the cuts to public spending, Adrian Marlowe, chair of ARC, said:
“Although the cuts will be painful for many, they do provide opportunities for agency workers and employers.   Many hirers and ARC members will benefit from using agency staff because they offer greater choice and flexibility - a huge advantage in these difficult economic times.
“In addition, some of those made redundant will be able to find work through temporary assignments, providing much-needed opportunities and, at the same time, increasing the available skills pool to employers.”
However, Adrian Marlowe struck a note of caution with a tax warning, saying:
“The Government has earmarked  £900m for the revenue to clamp down on tax evasion.   Organisations that offer schemes for payment of lower levels of tax must be very careful to ensure that they comply with the law.
