WHAT:    “National Men Make Dinner” Day is Thursday, November 4, 2010. While there is no official parade (at least not yet), Time for Dinner invites people throughout the St. Louis area to celebrate this unique holiday with the special men in their lives. Husbands, boyfriends, dads, brothers, uncles, significant others, and co-workers are invited to commemorate the day at Time for Dinner. Staff will be on hand to help men discover how easy it is to create delicious, homemade meals – without any help. Along the way, participants will realize that beer can be a legitimate ingredient, many desserts require the use of a propane torch, and cooking doesn’t always need to happen over an open flame.

WHO:   With a commitment to helping its customers improve their lives by offer a convenient alternative to prepare nutritious, delicious and economical home-cooked meals; four local women opened St. Louis-based Time for Dinner in April 2004.

Each month, the Time for Dinner staff carefully plans its meals, organizes the ingredients needed for recipe assembly, and supplies the packaging, as well as detailed cooking instructions, for each of their menu items. During a scheduled meal-preparation session, customers assemble, package and freeze a variety of family sized entrees and side dishes to cook at home.

Over the last six years, Time for Dinner’s customers, some of whom travel from more than 100 miles away, have prepared more than 250,000 meals in the company’s professional kitchen environment. In addition, Time for Dinner’s products may be ordered in advance for pick-up or shipping.

WHEN:   November 4, 2010 at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Meal preparation sessions that day will be specially designed for participation by men who are non-cooks. The Time for Dinner staff will be on hand to guide men through the food preparation process and offer unique tips and tricks to guarantee satisfying meals.
