2011 Dodge Journey Preview

The 2011 Dodge Journey has several upgrades, including a major cabin makeover, Uconnect technology, new engine, and fortified suspension. There is more storage space and the ride is enchanced with reengineered suspension geometry.
Oct. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Dodge has significantly upgraded the Journey for the 2011 model year, from powertrain to infotainment and most areas between, the Car Connection said. The biggest mechanical change to the new Journey is the addition of the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, rated at 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque in this application--a gain of 20 percent against the previous V-6, the article said. Ride and handling also get improvements from a "redesigned and retuned" suspension, a better OEM tire choice, and redesigned steering for more precision, the article said. Dodge is touting the new Uconnect Touch media center system as a game-changer for the Journey buyer, the report said. Four versions of the Journey come equipped with the Uconnect Touch system, the article said.

Dodge is updating its Journey crossover with an improved interior, a new engine and a fortified suspension, Autoweek magazine said. There's more storage space, new seats and new colors and trims; the ride is also enhanced with reengineered suspension geometry. Let's not forget what really improves the drive - the engine, the article said. The Journey is fortified with the Pentastar V6 that makes 283 hp in this vehicle, the article said.

The 2011 Dodge Journey, which comes as a five- or seven-passenger vehicle, has a new suspension, Pentastar V-6 engine and nicer interior, the Detroit News said. The crossover will debut the next generation of Chrysler’s Uconnect connectivity system, the News said. An 8.4-inch touch screen is the command center for the new Uconnect Touch that customizes everything from navigation and portable devices to climate controls and audio commands, the article said. Uconnect Touch will debut in the Journey and two other vehicles in the next few months, Alan Amici, Chrysler head of electrical and electronics engineering, said, but he did not identify the vehicles, the article said. Plans are in place for the next generation already, Amici said, to keep up with the fast-paced world of telematics, the News said.
