The daily time records

The functionality of RFID extends to the area of keeping daily time records. Employees will simply have to carry in their person, an RFID tag. This may be inserted into a pin that can be attached to a dress or simply built into their identification card.

RFID allows the almost simultaneously posting of daily attendance. No longer will anyone need to reflect tardiness in his time record just because he happened to be at the end of a long line of employees, all waiting to punch in. This type of system makes it possible to keep more accurate time values.

Product counts

Especially for companies who are involved in sales, regular product counts are necessary to make sure that the records tally with the stocks in the warehouse. Sometimes, when there is a considerable quantity of items to count, this process takes days, weeks even. That is because even as the counting is being done, products are constantly entering and leaving the warehouse.

RFID technology can read hundreds of tags at the same time. It becomes possible to shorten dramatically the time it will require to finish accounting for stocks.

Processing or assembling products

RFID technology can provide a system that will keep track of the status and the whereabouts of products in the manufacturing or processing line. The reader verifies that a certain item has gone through all the earlier steps in the process before it will admitthe item into the next stage. This verification and action is repeated for each of stages preceding the final one.

Restricting access to certain sections of the business compound

To prevent the leakage of information and the theft of valuable items in the business place, rooms that have sensitive contents may be closed to everyone but the few who are authorized by an RFID tag to enter. Without this authorization tag, the reader will not issue the order to unlock the door.

Besides those mentioned above, there are more RFID applications that are useful for business. People who have specialized concerns and would like an RFID program to meet a very unique need, may always inquire about customization from experts in this type of technology.
