Dade Community Foundation appoints VP of public affairs and communications

Oct. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- MIAMI – Dade Community Foundation today announced that Nancy Jones has joined the organization as vice president for public affairs and communications.

Jones reports to Javier Alberto Soto, president of the permanent philanthropic endowment established in 1967 that provides leadership and financial leverage to address the issues and needs of Greater Miami.

“As the foundation continues to expand our role in the community, we needed an expert to lead our efforts on the public affairs front. Nancy brings a unique blend of expertise in that area as well as philanthropy and communications. It’s a great fit for us and her, and she’ll play a key leadership role in our growth for the next decade,” Soto said.

Jones previously was chief communications officer for the Community Foundation of Broward in Fort Lauderdale. She has more than 10 years of public policy, communications and philanthropy experience. She serves on a number of national committees in the field, including the National Communications Steering Committee for the Council on Foundations.  Jones also sits on the Information Needs in a Democracy committee for the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
