Rocky Horror Picture Show (The Movie) Comes to Vallejo 10-30-2010

Commemorating our 4th Annual Howl-A-Ween Bash and the film's 35th Anniversary
Celebration we will  have two showings  a 7pm show time and the RHPS  Traditional showing at Midnight.   Live music and dancing in between show time will be brought to you by  
"About Face." About Face is the award winning eight piece group that has been entertaining Bay Area audiences for years with their unique mix of funk, reggae, acid-jazz, hip-hop and 70's soul. The band mixes genres effortlessly and their infectious grooves highlight the varied vocalists and talented personnel that make up About Face.  We look forward to seeing you at the show and be sure to wear your best RHPS costume...

About Empress Theatre : Built in 1911 in the Beaux Arts style, the Empress' appearance today has been shaped mainly by her rich history and changing fortunes. The theatre's interior layout dates from a much later 1930 Fox West Coast renovation (after a ruinous fire that took with it her upper balcony), while the magnificent Skouras ceiling and scroll-work arrived during a 1952 renovation. She stands tall today as an excellent example of early twentieth century theatre design, more than worthy of her landmark status. Her history is also Vallejo's history, and her restoration is a story of perseverance and the power of citizen activism combined with a generous dose of corporate good citizenship. Today, the magnificently restored Empress -- Vallejo's Landmark #17-- reigns over Virginia Street just as she has in the past -- a royal reminder of Vallejo's pride in its past and its hope for the future.
