Oct. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Portland, CT: Brownstone Halloween Extravaganza October 29, 30 & 31
A three day Halloween party to end the 2010 season. Don’t miss Brownstone’s daily costume contest, awarding the best-of-the-best with a 2011 Brownstone Exploration & Discovery Park Season Pass. The folks at Brownstone have a haunted peninsula ready for brave thrill seekers, a roaring bonfire, zip line costume contest, extreme pumpkin carving contest, zip and tip, and the soon- to-be-famous Bash-the-Monster Catapult Pumpkin Launch. Pumpkins are available for sale. All proceeds from pumpkin sales go to local food banks.
Bash-the-Monster Pumpkin Launch Aim at Quarry Creepers
Gory monsters float menacingly on the quarry while pumpkins catapult from Brownstone shores, attempting to bash them to bits. Participants launch pumpkins, aiming at the Halloween monsters floating on the docks, with prizes awarded to guests hitting their targeted beast. Pumpkins available at discount separately.
Zip Line Costume Contest
Trick-or-treat Brownstone style with a lightning fast parade of costumed zip liners flying across the quarry. Treats await those brave enough to wear their Halloween finest and fly through the October sky in full costume! Brownstone staff will also be costumed, some friendly, some wandering the park a bit more menacingly.
The One and Only Zip and Tip!
You know the old saying, "it's hard to hit a moving target"? Well at Brownstone you're moving (a la the zip line) and the target is stationary. Get harnessed in to our now famous zip lines and fly through the air with the greatest of ease....while trying to time your throw just right to hit our beastly targets.

The gauntlet has been laid – show us your stuff. Side by side, sphere by sphere these carved beauties will be on display beginning Friday, October 29th with final judging and prizes awarded on Sunday night, October 31st. For those with performance anxiety, we'll even let you carve them at home. The honored Pumpkin Picasso award offers two levels of judging: 12 and under and 13 and over.
Remember you can purchase pumpkins for the carving. launch and zip and tip at Brownstone. All proceeds from pumpkin sales go to local food banks.
