Oct. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- What an amazing event!
Once again, promoter / trainer / matchmaker / fighter / gentleman Joe Battaglia has outdone himself. His wealth of experience was evident tonight.
This was a rock solid show from start to finish. The main event was unbelievable. Actually, there were several fights that could have made fight of the night. Fortunately we don’t have the difficult task of choosing one!
The referees for the evening were Michigan pro fighters “Vicious” Vance Swerdan and “Bad News” Ben Lagman (whom you may also remember from a little show on MTV2 called Bully Beatdown).
Working the cage door was fellow referee Doug Gallegos.
Providing the comprehensive in-depth color commentary for www.cagefightinglive.com were Steve Lafrate and Donnie Worthington.
Also of honorable mention, we met an excellent EMT (who is also a fighter – very cool!), James Hill-Harris.
And last, but most definitely not least, announcing legend and friend of FightMichigan – Phil “The Voice” Davey lit up the night and kept the crowd psyched with his wit and finesse on the mic. Oh, and remember to pick up some Fight Fuel – it really works!

We had a great time and we are very much looking forward to TXC‘s next installment. Here are your results…

Fight #11 – 155lbs.
Drew “Lights Out” Laher vs Yacoub Abuhanna
Winner: Drew “Lights Out” Laher at 44 seconds in round 1 by referee stoppage due to severe shoulder dislocation.
Yacoub actually popped his shoulder back into place himself, and wanted to continue fighting. I would pay the $5.99 pay-per-view over at cagfightinglive.com just to see that again. Unfortunately once a fight is stopped due to injury, you can’t restart the fight, no matter how willing the fighter is. We hope there will be a rematch, because it was shaping up to be one hell of a fight.

Labron Oldham vs Andy Nemeckay
Winner: Andy Nemeckay at 2:14 in round 1 by tap out due to rear naked choke.
Fight #13 – 155lbs.

Fight #16 – MAIN EVENT – WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP (170lbs.)

We heard that this was going to be Corey’s last fight as an amateur, and we look forward to seeing him fight as a pro.
