Workshop: 'Mixed Metal Bracelet' with Sharon Lawson & Sue Minnock at Whaley Studios

On October 30, 2010 from 10AM to 4PM, Sharon Lawson and Sue Minnock will host a 'Mixed Metal Bracelet' workshops at Whaley Studios in the trendy Hillcrest district of San Diego.

A distinctive mixed metal bracelet will be created by you featuring handmade links, charms, embellishments and a clasp. This is a GREAT class for beginners and up. There will be lots of ideas to share!

You will learn several techniques that include fabricating hand made links and clasp, wire wrapping, riveting, texturing, forging, stamping, and using liver of sulfur as a patina.

Tools to bring:

- Flush cut pliers
- Round nose, chain nose and square nose pliers
- Hammer (chasing, ballpein)
- Leather or plastic mallet
- Anvil or bench block
- Files & sandpaper (200, 400, 600 grit)
- Jewelers Saw, saw blades (2/0, 3/0 or 4/0) & burlife/wax
- Working surface (piece of leather or cloth)

Let us know if you need to borrow a tool kit before class date!

Please wear closed toe shoes and tie back long hair for safety.

Cost: $ 95.00 for instruction

Material kit: $ 25 for silver, copper, brass wire/sheet, rivets, headpins, and a selection of beads/embellishments.
