Oct. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Following on from the highly successful launch last year of the London Connected website, netXtra are pleased to announce the recent launch of a new information-packed website for The Association of Independent Music (AIM)  - www.musicindie.com - a site providing AIM members, and others in the wider independent music community, with a mine of useful music industry information and tools.

The new site is a huge step forward for AIM who now has a fresh and appealing new online presence that leverages the organisation more effectively. Furthermore, through use of Xanadu, netXtra's comprehensive and easy-to-use website content management system, AIM's site administrators can now easily update and maintain their online presence, keeping it current and up-to-date. It also enables them to offer new media material, such as videos and podcasts, on various pages throughout the website.

netXtra have also improved the front-end functionality of the site, enabling AIM to manage annual membership renewals online - saving them time and money on administration. The site also provides visitors with the latest organisational and industry news and gives detailed information on AIM events, as well as offers visitors access to an array of informative videos and podcasts.

AIM members can gain exclusive access to restricted areas, packed with invaluable how-to guides, industry reports, up-to-date contacts directories, special offers, event videos and advice on all areas of independent label business. With sections on marketing and promotion, digital, international, legal and business affairs, finance and funding, synchronisation licensing, production and manufacturing, distribution and retail, employment and training, publishing and live music, the site offers all of the resources that a busy independent label or DIY artist needs.

The site also includes a members' directory with new functionality allowing AIM members to interact and network with each other. A searchable resource library provides an easy way for members to find and download information on any area of business. A partnership with A2IM allows members access to online resources produced by AIM's sister organisation, focused on the US market and US music business issues.

Lara Baker, Marketing Manager at AIM, said: "We want to ensure the AIM website is an essential resource for our members and the wider independent music community. The new site will bring members together and provide many of the tools they need to succeed. I hope the new content and functionality of the site makes it of use to members on a daily basis."

Ms Baker then remarked on their choice of website supplier, saying "Having put our website project out to tender, it was netXtra who clearly demonstrated, above all others, a very high level of professionalism and value. Their long-standing experience of developing websites for membership organisations, plus their ability to provide us with ongoing Internet strategy advice and ongoing web support, made our decision to choose netXtra a straight-forward one."

In early 2011 netXtra will further develop the site to allow AIM members exclusive access to a full media database, with contact details for key players across press, radio, TV and blogs. Searchable by media type, UK region and musical genre, this database will be the first of its kind in the music industry, allowing AIM's members to reach out to media in a targeted way, with no additional costs. This database is an integral part of AIM's commitment to provide improved access to media for independent labels and artists.
