Minneapolis Based Media Production Company iDream.tv is Named "Small Business of the Year"

Oct. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- The Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce will present its annual "Small Business of the Year" award to iDream.tv at the Business and Community Awards gala on Thursday, October 28th, 2010. The ceremony will be held at the Aveda Institute in Northeast Minneapolis.

The "Small Business of the Year" award criteria include contributions and active participation within the Northeast community, showing ongoing leadership by contributing to professional organizations with continuous business growth.

Edie French and Paul Auguston are the co-founders of iDream.tv and have been in business for over 25 years. iDream.tv is an award winning media production company featuring video production and still photography services leveraging the power of the internet.  

Previous awards include recognition in an international competition from Video Fuego in two categories. "Survive A Fire," a training video teaching children to escape from fires in the home.

iDream.tv is recognized for its philanthropic endeavors and is known to support the creative and intellectual growth of the community through in-kind contributions to local arts and non-profit organizations  – organizations including Frank Theatre, Black Storytellers Alliance, Wallin Education Partners, Minneapolis Rotary, AchieveMpls and others.

"When we needed to promote the 'Greening Your Business Expo' at the Twins Stadium on a low budget, we called Edie at iDream.tv," says Minneapolis Regional Chamber President and CEO Todd Klingel.

Idream.tv was the recipient of a Grow Minnesota – Pohlad Family Foundation Award from the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. With the grant, they were able to develop a  solid business plan, hire two employees and expand services to support local business development through Project Green Screen a video web clip service that helps local businesses produce high quality videos for their websites.

President and CEO Edie French is an active chamber member and serves on the Community Advisory Board of Frank Theatre.  She is a past Chair of the Minneapolis Arts Commission.

Idream.tv is a Chamber Keystone member contributing 5% of profits to the community and participates in the Summer Step-Up program.  

"Step Up is a great opportunity for all businesses to contribute to the growth of our community as well as benefit from the experience," says French. "As a result of our workplace conversations, our summer intern is now attending Augsburg College, majoring in business administration."

IDream.tv is growing in other areas by recognizing the importance of changing demographics in the region and its impact on world markets. The company helps its clients reach their audiences at home and around the world using languages including Spanish, Somali, Hmong and English.
